Masters represents the typical streets of South Korea and the United States on paper, as well as the landscape of the countryside by using pencils and graphite. His work gives audiences a feeling of seeing old black and white photographs and reveals the liveliness of the city itself. The drawing continues to clearly portray his visions in personal ways and incorporates his emotions on a subject and he creates all his work in distinctive ways onto the canvas. His delicate pencil-strokes are so refined that it is incomparable to any other works of art and every single line looks as if it is vibrating.
Richard Masters is a contemporary realism artist based in New York City. He studied design and drawing at the University of Iowa, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree and he was also professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he previously served as Professor of Art for 19 years. In the field of design, the United States Treasury Department has credited Masters with 19 coin designs and five medal designs through his work with the United States Mint. He continues his artistic journey with his wonderful artist wife in NYC.
