Sohyoung Park "Beyond Inspiration" Textile Design Solo Exhibition

테나플라이에 위치한 Gallery Yonhee (Korean Community Center 100 Grove Street, Tenafly, NJ) 주최, Sohyoung Park Textile Design Solo Exhibition "Beyond Inspiration"가 8월 2일 부터 12일 까지 열립니다. 작가와 함께하는 아티스트의 립셉션은 오는 화요일 8월 7일 저녁 6시 부터 시작되며, 이어서 7시 30분 부터 소프라노 이지은, 테너 유현호 성악가들로 구성된 음악회가 시작 됩니다. 부디 참석하셔서 함께 풍성하고 생각하는 감성의 시간을 나누어 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

이번 전시의 주제인 "Beyond Inspiration"은 ‘Measurement, Geometric, Plant’의 세가지 시리즈로 구성된 이야기인데, 일상적인 공간과 주변의 친숙한 공간 안에 나타나는 풍경과 사물의 다양한 형태, 패턴, 컬러를 텍스타일 디자인 요소로 구성한 작품들이다. 시각적인 사물에서 촉각을 이끌어 내기 위하여 재료의 조직과 질감을 이용해 그 소재와 자연적 모티브가 연결되는 공통 접점을 찾아 다채로운 팔레트에 연상의 과정을 담아 냄으로써 조각을 찾아 퍼즐을 맞추어 가는 방식으로 작품 감상의 즐거움을 경험 할 수 있다.

형태와 컬러의 Mix & Match 를 이용한 다양한 요소 들은 마치 무엇인가를 담아내고 비워내는 또 다른 공간의 표현 이자 지속적인 매개의 과정이며, 공간 안에 구성되는 오브제는 외적으로는 정적인 형태를 유지 하지만 내적 영역에 시간성을 불어넣어 시간의 흐름에 따른 끊임없는 변화를 표현하고 있다. 텍스타일 소재와 컬러는 사물과 공간, 시간의 변이와 수용의 형태로 카테고리 마다 변화한다.

Room & Space는 소통의 장소 이자 휴식의 공간 이며 과거, 현재, 미래를 연결하는 새로운 창조의 공간으로 자연스럽고 부드러운, 편안한 분위기에 극대화된 기하학적 요소를 믹스 하고자 하였으며 일반적인 사물에 대한 고찰을 통해 오브제가 갖는 의미를 재해석 하고자 한다.

박소형 작가는 현재 중앙대학교 예술대학 디자인 학부 공예 전공교수로 재직하고 있으며, 공예가이자 텍스타일 디자이너로 여러 산업체와 패션 액세서리 패턴 디자인 프로젝트 및 브랜드 이미지를 제고 하는 디자인 협업 을 진행 하였다. 더불어 창작 활동으로 다수의 국내 외 개인전과 기획전에서 텍스타일 소재가 가진 물성과 컬러를 패션과 리빙 디자인 제품에 응용 하는 작업을 지속적으로 전개 하고 있다.

Jieun Lee (Soprano)

Soprano Jieun Lee raised and educated as a soprano singer since she was a young child. After graduate Seoul High School of Music & Art and Ewha Womans University Lee had taught at the Ewha Womans University as a faculty but Lee came to NY to continuously study music and got her Masters of Music from the Mannes College of Music in NY. As a young concert musician she won numerous competitions and also had recitals globally at the prestigious music halls such as Carnegie Weil Hall and Seoul Arts Center etc.

Hyunho Yoo (Tenor)

Born in Seoul, South Korea, received his Master of Music degree from New England Conservatory and received Graduate Diploma degree at The Juilliard School. Mr. YOO performed his graduate recital at Jordan Hall with John Moriaty who is a noted vocal coach and accompanist throughout the US. Mr.Yoo performed several arts song concerts with the collaborative division in NEC. He also performed “Dancemaster” from opera ‘Ariadne auf die Naxos’, “Officer” from opera ‘le Perichole’, and performed ‘Yong tree’ from the opera ‘Paul Byunan’. Mr. YOO performed “Il duca di Mantova” from opera the ‘Rigoletto’ with the Seoul National University orchestra, and ‘Bastien” from the opera ‘Bastien un Bastienne’ with the Seoul Metropoltan Opera. He made his Alice Tully Hall debut in Juilliard’s Wednesday at 1 series. Mr. Yoo was the recipient of the Alice Tully and Paola Novikova Memorial Scholarship.
